The day pillar you see above is not looked up — it is computed, from the same unbroken count Chinese records have used since the oracle-bone era. Sixty pairs (the 六十甲子), one per day, forever: today's pillar, tomorrow the next, back to the start after sixty days. No leap rules, no exceptions — which is why it is the most trustworthy column in any historical date conversion.
Two things make a day's pillar interesting to a BaZi reader. First, the day boundary: the classical day turns at the 子 double-hour, and schools discuss whether 23:00–00:00 belongs to today or tomorrow — the same convention question your own birth chart faces. Second, resonance: today's stem and branch each stand in a definite Five-Element relation to your chart's Day Master — the mechanical layer of why the same day feels different to different charts. The relationship line above is computed exactly that way: stem element against stem element, nothing more claimed.
