In the classics
《三命通会》 states the double edge exactly: a Day Master without qi may be made strong by meeting Rob Wealth; one already strong watches it seize the Wealth star — the textbook 比劫夺财 calamity.
In a chart
Rob Wealth is Companion's sharper sibling — same element as the Day Master, opposite polarity, which adds friction and speed. It is the competitive peer: the ally who can also become the taker, the sibling dynamic around shared resources, the sales-floor energy that wins accounts and splits commissions. In a weak chart it is a more combative rescue than Companion — aggressive reinforcement when Wealth or Officer pressure would otherwise crush the Day Master. In a strong chart it is the classic agent of financial leakage through partners, rivals and impulsive competition.
Worked example
甲 meeting 乙 — yang wood meeting yin wood — meets Rob Wealth. The vine and the tree share ground and water; whether that is mutual support or strangulation depends on how much of each the garden holds.
