About

劫財 (Jiécái, "Competitor") is one of the Ten Gods (十神) of BaZi — the role a stem plays relative to the Day Master: same element as the day master, opposite polarity. Direct/Indirect counterpart: 比肩.‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌

劫財 ("wealth-taker") is formed when a stem shares the Day Master's element but not its polarity — kin, yet differently charged. It is the bolder sibling of 比肩: the rival, the daring partner, the friend who borrows without asking. Classical readings associate it with boldness, sociability, and the tension between camaraderie and competing for the same resources.‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌

In a chart, this means…

In a chart, 劫財 is traditionally read as competitive spark: quick to act, persuasive, generous in company and costly in partnership. It can read as courage, or as a leak in one's resources — which one, only the full chart can say.‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌
