傷官 (Shāngguān, "Unconventional Output") is one of the Ten Gods (十神) of BaZi — the role a stem plays relative to the Day Master: what the day master produces, opposite polarity. Direct/Indirect counterpart: 食神.
傷官 ("the officer-wounder") is formed when the Day Master produces a stem of opposite polarity — expression with an edge. Its very name records its classical reputation: brilliance that chafes against authority (what it "wounds" is the orderly 正官). It stands for performance, wit, innovation, and the refusal to leave rules unquestioned.
