偏財

偏財 (Piāncái, "Indirect Wealth") is one of the Ten Gods (十神) of BaZi — the role a stem plays relative to the Day Master: what the day master controls, same polarity. 偏財 ("offset wealth") is formed when the Day Master controls a stem of the same polarity — resources held with an open hand. It is the god of circulating fortune: opportunities, ventures, windfalls, money that moves. Classical readings associate it with generosity, sociability and commercial instinct — wealth as a current to ride rather than a store to guard.⁠‌​​​‌‌‌‌‌​​‌​‌‌​‌​​‌‌‌‌​‌​​‌​​​‌‌​​‌‌‌​​‌​​‌‌‌‌​‌​​‌​‌‌​‌‌​​​‌​‌‌‌​​‌‌​‌‌‌​​‌‌‌‌‌‌​​‌‌​‌‌‌​​‌​​‌‌‌​‌​​‌​‌‌​​‌‌‌‌‌‌​​‌​​​‌‌​‌​​‌​‌‌​​‌‌‌​‌‌​​‌​​​⁠
